Jaydeep Dawer Ships DPT 40K NLH Re-Entry at DPT Grand 2024

As DPT Grand is now done, it has brought up some new champions. Jaydeep Dawer has shipped the DPT 40K NLH Re-Entry. This is his maiden DPT championship. He took home ₹4,43,310, while runner-up Anand Babu wrote ₹3,23,676 to his assets. On the other hand, the two were locked in a heads-up battle after beating through a field of 36 entries.

In the final hand, the cards revealed were 3 ♦ , 4 ❤ , and 9 ♦ . Anand placed a bet of 40,000, and Jaydeep responded by going all-in with a larger stack. Jaydeep Dawer held 9 ♣ and 5 ♠, while Anand Babu had a pair of 7s. The next card was the 9 ♠, giving Jaydeep three of a kind, and the final card was the A ♠, securing his win. With Anand’s pair of 7s falling short, Jaydeep claimed the title, leaving Anand in second place.

Uday Kwatra became the bubble boy in this event, which had some of its exposure shut down because the main event was going on simultaneously.

In May, Gera Abraham clinched the Main Event, taking home a cash prize of ₹47,97,150. The previous October, Sahil Chutani had won the Main Event with a prize of ₹20,19,109, while in July 2023, Vasu Bansal emerged as the Main Event champion, earning ₹53,76,000.

The series had 15 events, and 5 were bracelet events. DPT Grand was hosted at Deltin Royale, and Adda52 powered the series. With players like Dawer, who haven’t featured in Hendon Mob shipping events, it is truly a scenario that will inspire many more aspiring poker players to give their dreams of playing poker a shot.
