India’s Biggest Esports Event ‘GamerJi Community Challenge 2.0′ Announced

One of India’s fastest growing esports tournament platforms, GamerJi, has announced the biggest esports event of the year called ‘GamerJi Community Challenge (GCC) 2.0.’ The esports tournament platform has officially partnered with online streaming platform Loco as the official streaming partner for the event.

GamerJi is one of India’s leading esports tournament brands, founded in 2019 by gaming expert and entrepreneur, Soham Thacker. The platform allows users to play game tournaments, host matches with other players, communicate and share content. Players can also win prizes by playing on the platform.

The latest event from GamerJi, the GamerJi Community Challenge 2.0, has a prize pool of ₹3,00,000. The tournament will feature some of the most popular games including Clash Royale, Call of Duty Mobile, FIFA Mobile, WCC3 and Ludo. The tournament kick-starts on June 27th, 2021 and will continue till July 11th, 2021.

The upcoming tournament series is expected to witness over 30,000 players battling it out. The finals will be held over two days on July 10th and 11th, 2021.

This event will be the second in the series. The first GamerJi Community Challenge 1.0 was held in January 2021. The first edition featured six games with a prize pool of ₹ 1 Lakh. The event witnessed over 21,000 players, and reached over 7.3 million influencers to achieve an engagement rate of 67%.

GCC 2.0 seems to be setting new records by receiving the highest participation under a single event. It has so far received 30,000 registrations, surpassing the GCC 1.0 registrations count.

The second edition aims to reach 10 million gaming influencers. Gamerji will be closely monitoring the tournament series to ensure fair play during the tournament. Also, at the end of the event, cash prizes will be awarded to multiple winners.

The tournament platform is also actively working towards creating an inter-college esports environment in the country. It has its College Gaming League (CGL), which has over 100 colleges on board.

The most recent CGL was held in April 2021, wherein students from over 50 colleges including prestigious colleges like BITS – Pilani,  Symbiosis Pune, Delhi University and 19 IITs from across the country among others had participated.

Soham Thacker, founder of GamerJi, said, “GCC 2.0 tournament has seen one of the highest participation ever for a single event. GamerJi understands that aspiring gamers need exposure and recognition to advance in their esports careers. GCC, a property created by GamerJi will see at least 2 more large scale tournaments by the year end. GamerJi will continue to launch such tournaments to evangelise the esports ecosystem in India and continue to provide a fair, fun and engaging platform to amateur gamers.”
