Indian Origin Vidur Sethi Finishes 11th At 2021 WSOP Event #50

Another event at the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) came to an end with another player being crowned a WSOP champion. This time it was Event #50: $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack. The winner at this event was Darrin Wright, who won his first-ever WSOP gold bracelet.

This mixed event witnessed 1,569 players, out of which finishing at the 11th spot was an Indian origin player Vidur Sethi. The player, who is currently located in Dubai, cashed $8,535 from his 11th place finish. Sethi, who had one of the shortest stacks at the end of Day 1 made a solid comeback on Day 2 and went on to take the 11th spot, which was just four places short of the final table of eight. This is Sethi’s ninth online payout and first live payout at the WSOP. He has earlier cashed at eight online events during the 2020 Online WSOP. This is also Sethi’s highest WSOP payout.

Sethi was busted by Wright, who went on to nail the event. Sethi raised to 5,60,000 from the button when blinds were 80,000-160,000. Hanan Braun in the small blind and Darrin Wright in the big blind called. The flop opened to {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Sethi went all-in. Braun folded, while Wright called. The turn and river opened to {2-Hearts}{k-Spades} . Wright completed a straight with his {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Sethi was left with a high pair with his {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} hole cards.
