HSOP Championship: Shivam Shukla Nails Hyper Turbo

The Hanoi Series of Poker (HSOP) Championship April 2024 turned fruitful for the Indian grinders. Poker pro Shivam Shukla nailed Event 11, Hyper Turbo for a sum of VND 18,700,000. This victory isn’t the only thing he scooped. The live poker player also won a jackpot worth VND 138,749,000 during the Megastack Special event (jackpot on the flop). 

Another Indian pro, Amit Kaushik is placed second in the Player of the Series ranking (after the conclusion of 10 events). The IIT graduate collected 825 points to secure the runner-spot. Kaushik also made the final table of Event 7, Megastack High Roller. The pro finished 6th for VND 150,000.

HSOP Championship – Hyper Turbo

This Hyper Turbo event of the popular series came with VND 24 Million guaranteed prize pool and a buy-in of VND 720,000. The starting stack was 18,000. The late registration ended at the start Level 10. 

Talking about the series, this highly anticipated event kick-started on 12th April and will run till 21st April 2024 at the Grand Loyal Poker Club. 

When it comes to Indian players grinding in the series, we have Alok Birewar, Karan Thakker, Daniyal Kazi, Jasven Saigal and Laksh Pal Singh apart from Shukla and Kaushik. 

HSOP Championship Main Event 

Coming to the coveted Main Event of the HSOP Championship April 2024, we have Alok Birewar qualifying for Day 2 as the second highest chip stack (665,000). The total number of entries in this qualifying flight was 203. Day 1B saw 25 survivors move ahead. 

Karan Thakker also made Day 2 of the Main Event with a stack of 236,000. Day 1A saw Daniyal Kazi qualify with a stack of 90K. This starting day flight had a total of 128 entries and 16 survivors progressed ahead.

For the unversed, HSOP Championship April 2024 Main Event comes with a VND 2.5 Billion guarantee. The buy-in stands at 8,800,000 and the starting stack is 40K. Late registration ends at the start of Level 11. 

When it comes to the series, a few more days are left, it would be interesting to see if more Indian players ship winning titles including the marquee Main Event.
