Ho Lun Pang Wins APPT Macau Kickoff For HKD 265,600

The Macau edition of the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) has begun at the PokerStars Live poker room, Macau. The tournament is scheduled to take place between 14 and 25 March 2018, and a total of 26 tournaments will be played during this time. We are here to report the first event of the series, the APPT Kickoff HKD 3,000 buy-in event which took place between 14 and 15 March.

Hong Kong’s Ho Lun Pang kicked off the Kickoff event with a good win, shipping the event for HKD 265,600 (~INR 22,03,000), beating a strong field of 451 entries and taking a massive share of the HKD 1,181,169 prizepool. Considering it was an HKD 500,000 guaranteed event, it was a good turnout as the guarantee was more than doubled.

Ho Lun Pang has been around the poker circuit for a few years now and has made all of his tournament winnings at the gambling hub of Macau. This turned out to be his first tournament title and also the biggest win of his poker career, taking his career live cashes to slightly over $45,000.

He faced China’s Abao Shi in heads up, and it wasn’t long before he shipped the tournament. Along with this event, the APPT National High Roller and APPT National were being played simultaneously, and a lot of Indians were in action at these events, including the likes of Kunal Patni, Aditya Agarwal, Mayank Agarwal, Raghav Bansal and a few others.

In the ongoing APPT National event, a total of 476 entries were recorded and 6 Indians made it to Day 2 of the event. It will be interesting to see if any of our Indian players can cash out big at the event and in the series as a whole. Keep watching GutshotMagazine.com for regular updates on the APPT Macau 2018!
