In India, the government for the small state of Goa has reportedly been ordered by the Mumbai High Court to make a final decision on a license for a sixth offshore casino within the next four weeks.
According to a report from The Times Of India newspaper, the petition for an ultimate decision was brought by Amit Garg from Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited after the firm claimed to have paid around $6.5 million for a five-year license in September but had still to receive the correct permissions.
Garg reportedly alleged that Goan officials had also failed to authorize a change-of-use petition for the selected vessel and had yet to issue it with the appropriate mooring permissions.
Should Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited receive ultimate permission to operate its offshore casino, which it previously revealed would be christened as the Casino Maharaja, the venue would be the sixth such enterprise in Goa alongside the Deltin Royale, Deltin Jaqk and the Deltin Caravela from Delta Corporation Limited and Pride Group’s Casino Pride and Casino Carnival.
