GGPoker Site Crashes During GGMasters Anniversary $5 Million GTD Tournament

GGPoker has been in the news for a while and all the right reasons. However, an unfortunate incident that propelled the brand once again to the forefront of headlines. The site unexpectedly crashed while an online tournament with a $5 Million guaranteed cash prize was ongoing.

The technical snag occurred during the $150 buy-in GGMasters Anniversary tournament, which had a $5 million guaranteed prize pool and over 20,000 entrants. The tournament is one of the organizer’s most significant winter tournaments. The company quickly entered damage control mode, reset the date, and informed players that their money was safe.

NSUS Group, the parent company of GGPoker, took over the World Series of Poker (WSOP) brand in 2024. The brand also experienced a rare hiccup a while ago. In October 2024, an online bracelet event scheduled was cancelled, a rare occurrence, according to poker circles. GGPoker has the most significant online poker cash game traffic on a global level.
