Gaurav Sood wins second Uppercut title on PokerStars

This boy from Gurgaon, Haryana is surely enjoying a fantastic run in online poker currently. Since the start of the year, Gaurav Sood has been strengthening his poker bankroll with multiple titles across the various major poker websites. This also helped him sponsor his first international poker trip to the recent APT Vietnam series.

Last night was another victorious night for Sood, this time on PokerStars India where he plays as ‘3betPanda’. He participated in their Friday night tournament called Uppercut PKO INR 8 Lakh GTD which has a buy-in of INR 4,400 and is played in the very popular 6-max format.

He fired 4 bullets last night but eventually made his way to the top, beating 228 entries and this field was good enough to break the guarantee and create a fresh prize pool of INR 9.12 Lakh. This was then shared by the top 41 places with a min-cash of INR 3,468. However, being a bounty tournament, some took home small prizes even outside the money bubble.

As for Sood, he was above the average stack right through the tournament and it wouldn’t have been the toughest of wins for him. However, there were a few top names in contention during the final stages including bracelet winner Aditya Sushant aka ‘serendipity789’ who finished in 11th place.

Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting.ind’ narrowly missed the Final Table after busting in 8th place while Abhishek Garg aka ‘TheGrinder333’ soon followed him in 6th. The first elimination on the FT was that of recent IOPC Main Event winner Srihari Bang aka ‘bangbang1999’ and he ended in 6th place, following which it was an easy finish for Gaurav Sood.

Eventually, he bagged INR 2,18,864 for his Uppercut victory, having already won this title once in June this year. This time, his prize consisted of INR 84k from the tournament prize pool and the rest from the bounty prize pool. In heads-up, he outlasted ‘s291405’ and the latter won INR 60,947 from the tournament prize money.
