Gaurav Sood fires 8 bullets and wins BSS SuperStack

Sometimes, you’re happy with a good day, good week or even good month in business. As for Gurgaon’s Gaurav Sood, the good times just seem to keep rolling, winning major titles every month (sometimes multiple) since March this year. Regardless of which online poker platform he plays on, the hard work is evident with his results at the moment.

BSS SuperStack INR 25 Lakh GTD is held every Sunday at 7pm on PokerBaazi and another edition was played out last night with its usual buy-in of INR 5,500. Nearly 8 hours later, at 2:54am this morning, we had a winner and it wasn’t too surprising to know that it was Gaurav Sood again, who plays as ‘gaug17’ on this platform.

He has been busy strengthening his poker bankroll in recent months and you can get a small summary of some of his online victories here. Last night too, he won BSS SuperStack and was handsomely rewarded by PokerBaazi, taking home INR 5,02,500 as first-place cash prize.

He beat a field of 468 entries and including him, the top 54 players received pay-checks of INR 11,500 each. Some of the top names in the industry he had to outlast included Raman Gujral aka ‘ifryu’ (40th), Jayjit Ray aka ‘england’ (31st), Ram Kakkar aka ‘mowgumotu’ (19th), Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid’ (8th), Vinay B aka ‘Vinstill’ (3rd) and others.

Vinay B received a decent pay-out of INR 2,26,500 for this run, being knocked out in 3rd place and getting a podium finish. As for the heads-up battle, it was Sood against ‘jiwaniarzoo’ and the latter eventually got knocked out in 2nd place and settled for INR 3,52,250 for the runner-up finish. Gutshot contacted Sood to congratulate him and when we asked him to comment on the win, his reaction was:

On a more serious note, Sood added, “It’s good to have a good score on the online felts just before I leave for APT, Vietnam on Tuesday. I was able to play my A-game on the 8th bullet as well, so that’s the silver lining for me.” Yes, Sood fired 8 bullets and while most would tend to go on a tilt during this time, Sood kept his composure and went on to make the 8th entry count the most!
