The second edition of the Baadshah Gaming Live took place between 5th and 9th April 2018, with a total of 5 events to be played – a warm up event, a bounty event, the Main Event, a heads-up event and the high roller event. We reported news of Aditya Sushant winning the warm up event, followed by Bobby Zhang winning the Main Event for INR 17 lakh.
The bounty event was an INR 15k buy-in one, that took place on 7th April. A total of 68 entries were recorded, generating a prizepool of nearly INR 7 lakhs and an additional INR 5,000 bounty to be given out for every elimination. Eventually, it was Vidwath Shetty who took down the title, pocketing INR 1.6 lakh for first-place.
Shetty has been a popular name in the Indian domestic circuit over the past few years, having won a couple of DPT titles, including a massive INR 36.23 lakh win at a DPT High Roller event last year and an IPC (India Poker Championship) title in 2015. In this bounty event, the top place was to get an INR 2.15 lakh prize, but Shetty took home INR 1.6 lakh due to a 3-way deal between himself, Manoj Pentakota and Devesh Thapar.
The top 8 players were paid out, with a minimum cash prize of INR 15,000. Finally, the top three agreed to a deal whereby all three would take away INR 1.5 lakh, and an additional INR 10,000 along with the title, to the winner. In the final hand, Thapar went all in with pocked eights, only to be called by Shetty, who had A-6. The board opened 10-J-7-Q-K, which completed a straight for Shetty on the river.
