Friday Round Up: Shashank Desai, Deepak Choudhary, ‘slickooo’ & ‘pratap2904’ Took Hefty Prize Money Home Yesterday


The tournaments on Spartan Poker, PokerBaazi, and Adda52 yesterday were high-value ones. The philanthropic side of poker platforms was yet again revealed yesterday as PokerBaazi conducted a tournament to contribute the tournament fee towards helping the country to battle the second wave of COVID-19. Here’s a recap of all the action from yesterday’s tournaments.

Millionaire Series #10 – The Elite – 40 Lakh GTD

The 5 Crore guarantee Millionaire Series on Spartan Poker runs from 3-9 May. The Millionaire tournament that took place yesterday had 538 entries in total. The top 50 players were paid a min-cash of ₹26,900. This ₹11,000 buy-in tournament was shipped by anonymous player ‘slickooo’ who traversed to the top and cashed ₹13,98,800 in prize money. The guarantee of the Millionaire series Elite tournament was 40 Lakh. It was crushed by a huge margin and an even bigger prize pool of ₹53,80,000 was formed.

The Ballers – 22.5 Lakh GTD

The Baller tournament on Adda52 was a ₹7,500 buy-in event. There were 412 entries in total and the top 43 players were paid a min-cash of ₹15,522. The tournament was shipped by mystery player ‘pratap2904’ who received a pay cheque of ₹6,99,906. The advertised guarantee of 22.5 Lakh was crushed and an even bigger prize pool of ₹28,22,204 was formed.

The Weekly Highroller – 12 Lakh GTD

The Weekly Highroller tournament had 158 entries in total and the top 18 players on the virtual felts were paid a min-cash of ₹20,700. The winner of this ₹11,000 buy-in tournament was poker pro Shashank Desai aka ‘indianrat.’ He cashed ₹4,07,000 in prize money. The advertised guarantee of this tournament was surpassed and a bigger prize pool of ₹15,80,000 was formed.

The O2 Initiative – 15 Lakh GTD

The O2 initiative by PokerBaazi contributed to the buy-ins of this tournament towards supplying oxygen as there is an acute shortage of oxygen in hospitals across the country for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. The platform conducted a contest and the winners got a ticket to the tournament. This tournament had1,655 entries in total. The buy-in for this initiative event was ₹1,200.

The top 144 players were paid a min-cash of ₹2,151. The advertised guarantee of the tournament was ₹15 Lakh it was crushed and an even bigger prize pool of ₹16,55,000 was formed. The winner of this tournament was Deepak Choudhary aka ‘sabJuwaaHai’ who took home ₹2,78,000 in prize money.
