ESPL 2021: Free Fire Tournaments To Offer A Whopping Prize Pool Of ₹ 25,00,000


According to a news report, the gaming and esports division of India Today group called India Today Gaming recently launched ESports Premier League 2021 (ESPL), a nationwide esports tournament for players based in India. The tournament is an open Free Fire tournament that will feature a prize pool worth ₹ 25,00,000.

Reports stated that the tournament will have four phases. The first phase would be exclusively scheduled for the registered team, the second phase would consist of 88 teams that would be selected from the first phase. The 88 teams that have been selected would be joining 8 invited teams in phase two and then compete to become the ultimate champions.

Further reports stated that the ESports Premier League 2021 (ESPL) is not new to the esports ecosystem. It was in 2019 when Garena and India Today had partnered together to launch ‘Free Fire Battle Royale League’ featuring a prize pool worth ₹ 35,00,000. The team that had won represented India at Free Fire’s World Series 2019 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

According to reports by India Today, Free Fire 2021 has planned many tournaments for aspiring esports players in India. The list of upcoming tournaments scheduled by Garena Free Fire are: 

Free Fire Pro League India 2021 Summer (FFPL):

According to a report by India Today, the Free Fire Pro League India 2021 summer is a tournament for the teams based in India and Nepal. The FFPL India 2021 Summer would feature a massive prize pool of ₹ 35,00,000. It would also play the role of a seeding tournament for the Free Fire India Championship 2021 that would be held in the next season. There would be 6 teams from the FFPL India 2021 finals that would qualify for the Championship in the fall.

Reports stated that the Pro India League Circuit would begin on 26th June 2021, and the top 12 teams would compete in the grand finals that would be held on 18th July 2021. The tournament would be a great opportunity for amateur players to start their journey in esports in India. The FFPL 2021 would be divided into three phases – FFC Mode Qualifiers, League Circuit, and Finals.

FREE FIRE India Championship 2021 Fall (FFIC):

Reports state that the FFIC 2021 Fall is one of those flagship events that would feature the best teams from India and Nepal. Reports state that the event is divided into four phases – Closed qualifiers, League circuit, Play-ins, and Finals. The closed qualifiers would seed 12 teams that are at the top of open qualifiers and 6 teams that are at the bottom of the Pro League 2021 Summer. The league circuit would seed 12 teams that are at the top of closed qualifiers and 6 teams that are at the top from the Pro League 2021 Summer. Around 18 teams will be divided into three groups of 6 teams, with the top 2 from each team qualifying for finals, whereas 12 teams from the bottom will compete in the Play-ins stage.

Further, reports stated that FFIC 2021 fall finals would consist of top 6 teams of the league circuit and the Play-ins stage. The fall finals would feature a prize pool worth ₹ 35,00,000 and the winners will make it to the next Free Fire World Series.
