DPT Xpress Sikkim kicks off today at Deltin Denzong

The much-awaited tournament series of the Northeast, Deltin Poker Tour Xpress (DPTX) Sikkim will kick-off today in the picturesque city of Gangtok in Sikkim at Casino Deltin Denzong, an iconic casino in Sikkim operated by Delta Corp., parent company of Adda52.

This is the 2nd iteration of DPTX after a very successful 1st edition hosted back in September-October last year. This edition of the series offers an exciting line-up of 4 live events and between 14-17 March 2019. These include INR 5k Burn ‘n’ Turn¸ INR 15k Main EventINR 10k Bounty and INR 5k + 5k Tag Team Event.

The buy-in of the whole series amounts to just INR 35,000, which will prove to be immensely popular among the mid-stakes players who are looking to witness some live poker action. Players from nearby metros like Kolkata, Delhi, etc. are expected to flock to the venue in large numbers because of the low budget of the series.

The WPTDS Vietnam will also run at intersecting schedules with the DPTX and players who find the former expensive can test their live skills at the DPTX. With only INR 35k and a bit extra for accommodation and airfare, you can get a taste of the exciting live poker action happening in Sikkim.

Players who are looking to indulge in some cash games side by side are not left out. The series will also host quality cash tables simultaneously. The organisers promise the best experience at these tables. Apart from the cash games, the DPTX has tweaked structures for all its events which are now less turbo compared to last year’s.  Minissha LambaAdda52 Celebrity Pro and Bollywood actress, made a Facebook video inviting everyone to DPTX:

The Burn ‘n’ Turn event will also see #ONETIME introduced, which means you can run the board twice or RIT (Run It Twice), a feature not so common in live tournaments. The Main Event of the series will have Shot Clocks, which will hasten the gameplay even more and make overall experience a fun one.

Last year’s Burn ‘n’ Turn event attracted 122 entries and top 12 were paid out of this. It was Jharkhand’s Vivek Baskey who won this inaugural event for a good INR 1.55 Lakhs. The field mostly consisted of regional players and ensured tough action throughout.

Last edition’s Main Event was won by a local pro Bhola Sharma who beat a strong field of 67 entries to earn INR 3.4 Lakhs as the first-place cash prize. The top 9 positions were paid in the event. The Bounty event last time was won by Prashant Malik for INR 90k.

The second edition promises to be even better and bigger than the inaugural one, so stay tuned to GutshotMagazine.com for timely updates from DTPX and other such events happening around the world.
