DPT ME winner Ankit Kapoor takes down The Mighty One!

Recently, Adda52 hosted another multi-day tournament called The Mighty One INR 1 Crore GTD, where you could be a part of three starting flights before survivors battled it out on Day 2 of the tournament. What’s better is that the tournament allowed you to participate and win from this mega prize pool at a small buy-in of just INR 2,500!

It was the success of the National Poker Championship (NPC) that prompted Adda52 to host another multi-flight signature tournament and this time, it was Ankit Kapoor aka ‘helter_skelter’ who emerged victorious in this tournament, beating 3,500+ entries to ship The Mighty One and add a massive score of INR 20,00,000 to his poker bankroll.

It was just February this year when Kapoor made his first big bang in the Indian poker circuit, shipping the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) Main Event in Goa. He took that good run to Rozvadov too, where he shipped a TIPS PLO event in March. Now, the banker turned poker pro is showing that he is no muck at online poker either.

Coming back to The Mighty One, the tournament ran between 4-7 July 2019 and Kapoor outlasted a number of Adda52 regulars on his way to taking down the title. 282 players were paid out and some who made deep runs included Apratim Sharma (4th for INR 5,57,000), Varun Meena (5th for INR 4,20,000), Pranav Bang (9th for INR 1,10,000), Sahib Thakur (10th for INR 77,000), and Vikram Ved Batra (13th for INR 77,000).

“It feels great winning such a big tournament and being able to outlast the field consisting of some of the strongest names in the circuit. It is indeed my biggest score till date in an online MTT and I’m still letting the feeling sink in,” Kapoor told OnlinePokerNews in an interview after the victory.
