DPT May 2024: Harsh Bubna Wins Mini Main Event

The Kolkata based pro Harsh Bubna has nailed the Mini Main Event title at the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) May 2024. Bubna managed to scoop his first DPT trophy in this tournament series. The event which is underway at Deltin Royale is witnessing winners being crowned amid stiff competition on the felts. When it comes to the Mini Main Event, the online and live reg Bubna left his rivals to bite dust and emerge victorious for a sum of ₹7,87,668. 

DPT May 2024: Mini Main Event

The ₹25K buy-in event had 217 total entries and came with a starting stack of 25K. The late registration ended at the beginning of Level 9. The final three players struck a three-way deal and fought for the trophy and title. The heads-up session began with Bubna as the chip lead against Vaibhav Khurana. The runner-up did put up a fight but couldn’t outsmart Bubna and took a pay cheque of ₹7,65,967.

The final table of this marquee tourney had names like Gurpal Singh, Udit Baid, Ishant Soni, Piyush Baid and Shahrukh Farooqui (chip lead- 220K). Khurana was responsible for cleaning out most of the contenders on the final table. With six players walking towards the exit door, Khurana was touted to win but eventually the tourney ended in a deal.

In the deciding hand of the Mini Main Event, Harsh Bubna (Q♠ 8♠) went all-in and his rival Khurana (7♦ 10♦) made the call from the big blind position. The community cards fell as 7♠ 5♦ 8♦ 4♠ K♥ and Bubna’s 8-pair held, fetching him the title and trophy. 

Coming to the live poker series, apart from Bubna, we have players like Harshdev Jhirmiria, Karan Vohra, and Naveen Kumar shipping the title spots for impressive prize money.
