DPT May 2024: Arshia Mehta Wins The Ladies Event

Congratulations are in order for Arshia Mehta, the champion of the  Deltin Poker Tournament DPT May 2024 Ladies Event! Mehta overcame a field of 21 entries to claim her first DPT title and a top prize of ₹1,60,000.

In the final hand, Mehta, holding the bigger stack, moved all-in with A♠ 8 ❤ . Muskaan Tandon, from the big blind position, called with A ❤ 10♠. The community cards fell Q ♦ 8♣ Q ❤ 3♠ 2 ♦ , giving Mehta two pairs (QQ,88) to win the hand and DPT title. 

Tandon, who put up a tough fight throughout the tournament, had to settle for the runner-up spot, taking home ₹1,00,000 for her impressive performance.

The Ladies Event, which kicked off at 8 PM with 20-minute levels and a starting stack of 15,000 chips, attracted a field of 21 entries, with a buy-in of ₹16,500. The late registration was available until the start of Level 7, allowing ample time for participants to join the poker action.

Notable players in the field included Radhika Shankar aka ‘pokermom’, former DPT Women’s Special winner Kanchan Sharma, Milena Mezhuieva, and Priya Agarwal.

In the previous edition held in July 2023, Manju Sabhlok emerged victorious, taking home ₹72,000. Mehta’s triumph marks a new chapter in her poker career and serves as an inspiration to aspiring female players in the Indian poker scene.

The DPT May 2024 event has so far witnessed many power-packed performances with several players shipping top titles. DPT May 2024 list of winners include names like Karan Vohra, Harsh Bubna, Harshdev Jhirmiria, Jaydeep Selvaraju, Shaurya Kohli, and Naveen Kumar.
