Did You Know About ‘Doyles Room,’ Doyle Brunson’s Online Poker Site?

The Godfather of Poker ‘Doyle Brunson‘ passed away at the age of 89 years on 14th May 2023. He has left behind a legacy that will be remembered and will continue to inspire for generations to come. 

He has a long list of achievements to his credit. But did you know that the pro once owned an online poker site of his own? Yes, Brunson once had a poker site named after himself – Doyles Room. 

Doyles Room

Established in 2004, Doyles Room was an online poker room named after the Godfather of poker, Doyle Brunson. It was originally operated on the Tribeca Poker Network, which is now part of the Playtech iPoker network. Doyles Room was later moved to the Microgaming (Prima) Poker Network in 2007.

Doyle Brunson Poker Network, named after Brunson, was licensed and incorporated in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles. The website also stated, ‘Letter of Intent from Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority Received.’

Doyles Room provided a number of poker card game options, such as Texas Hold’em, Badugi, Seven-card stud, and Omaha Hold’em. In addition, the online poker room also hosted regular tournaments that featured poker personalities such as Doyle Brunson, Mike Caro, Todd Brunson, Hoyt Corkins, Alec Torelli and Cyndy Violette grinding regularly.

Why Is Doyle Brunson Known As The Godfather Of Poker?

It was later was moved to the Cake Poker Network in January 2009 and eventually to the Yatahay Network two years later in January 2011. In April 2011, the domains of several online poker sites, including PokerStars, Absolute Poker, Full Tilt Poker, and Ultimate Bet were seized. The event came to be known as Black Friday, as it came as a big blow to the online poker industry of the United States. After the incident on 15th April 2011, Doyles Room was also seized on the violation of online gambling laws on 26th  May 2011, following which Brunson cut ties with Doyles Room. Later in October 2011, America’s Cardroom acquired the poker site.
