‘degen123’ takes down Sunday SuperStack on Spartan

The Spartan Super Series (SSS) concluded a couple of nights back on The Spartan Poker, with plenty of tournaments scheduled for the day. While there were many high-value tournaments lined up, there was one Spartan featured tournament also being hosted, but it wasn’t a part of the SSS schedule.

This tournament was the weekly Sunday SuperStack INR 25 lakh GTD which happens to be their largest featured tournament of the week, taking place every Sunday evening. The tournament saw a massive participation and the guarantee being passed, even though the SSS series was being played simultaneously.

Each paying the buy-in of INR 5,500, 546 entries had joined the tournament by the end of the late registration period, with the prize pool being taken up to INR 27.3 lakh. Eventually, the top 50 places ended in the money of the Sunday SuperStack, each taking away a minimum cash of INR 13,650.

The grind was never going to be tough, with so many known pros in the mix and big prizes up for grabs. Ultimately however, the player who took down the title along with the massive top prize of INR 7,09,800 was ‘degen123’ who preferred to stay anonymous even after this big win. He has also won on Spartan in the past, shipping the SSS Mega Stack tournament last month.

As usual, the tournament grind went on for hours, ending early on Monday morning when degen123 beat another player who prefers to stay anonymous – ‘zapdos1234’. A good heads-up battle ended with degen123 emerging victorious and taking away the major top prize, while zapdos1234 had to settle for the runner-up prize of INR 4,36,800, which is also quite a healthy amount.
