Deepak Bothra wins last night’s Head-Hunter on Spartan

Spartan Poker hosts bounty tournaments every Thursday night called Head-Hunter INR 10 Lakhs GTD. With its growing popularity, well-known poker players are taking down this featured tournament every week. It was yesterday that Deepak Bothra triumphed this online tournament playing as ‘chimpoo’.

At 8 pm a total of 267 players enter, each paid a buy-in of INR 5,500. The guaranteed amount slightly surpassed in this event and the prize pool was collected to be shared among the top 27 places, all of whom received minimum cash of INR 10,680.

With blinds at 12,000/24,000 ante 1,500 in Level #40, Bothra (As 7d) leading with 1.36 million chips against his opponent ‘Lord Hendrix’ (Kd 9d) with 1.30 million chips. In the final hand of the tournament, Flop and turn 3h Qd 6s 4h both play slow and check. ‘Lord Hendrix’ bets 60k while a pretty good 5d river for the chipleader places his entire stack in the middle making a straight and holding a strong hand, the latter immediately folds watching his opponent’s action.

After the last hand, both players decide to settle for a deal and Bothra was ultimately crowned the champion of the night. Bothra is a frequent face in Spartan hosted tournaments and with this win, he added another title to his poker cabinet. Besides numerous victories in both live and online felts, he finished 1st in 2017 Deltin Poker Tournament Tag Team, Panjim.
