David Eldridge Wins MILLIONS North America High Roller


Season 2 of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS kicked off on 21st April, with the MILLIONS North America taking place at the Montreal’s Playground Poker Club in Canada. Guaranteed prizes worth over CAD 15 million are up for grabs in this series and the series already had its first big winner in David Eldridge.

Eldridge won the $10,300 High Roller Event and this would be a rather special win for him as it became his second highest live win and moreover, it took him past the $1 million mark in career live-poker earnings. His highest live cash came in a $5,000 WPT Main Event in Canada itself, last year, where he cashed CAD 300,982 for second place.

Here, he was up against 26 survivors who got through to Day 2 of the event, and 11 players were to be paid out with a minimum cash prize of CAD 20,000. He edged out quite a few top poker pros such as Kristen Bicknell, Viktor Blom, Martin Jacobson and others to win the title and the cash prize of CAD 300,000!

Final results:

  1. David Eldridge – CAD 300,000 (~INR 1.55 crore)
  2. Victor Ramdin – CAD 180,000
  3. Kevin Hobbs – CAD 120,000
  4. Jon Van Fleet – CAD 90,000
  5. Viktor Blom – CAD 72,500
  6. Parker Talbot – CAD 57,500
  7. Ami Alibay – CAD 45,000
  8. Chris Moorman – CAD 35,000

Eldridge went into heads-up against his countryman Victor Ramdin, with more-or-less equal chip stacks. In what turned out to be the final hand of the tournament, both players went all in pre-flop; Eldridge held the lead with 10-pair, over Ramdin’s A-3. Eldridge raised, and his opponent was brave enough to go all-in with the cards he held. Another 10 opened on the flop to complete a set for Eldridge and give him the title!
