Coral Poker joins the partypoker network!

One of the flagship skins of the iPoker Network, Coral Poker has announced an abrupt shift from to the partypoker Network. The news caught the public attention by the end of November as the players were notified via email that their accounts would be migrated to the GVC partypoker Network.

Coral Poker merged with Ladbrokes in 2016 but was acquired by the GVC Holdings in March 2018. This sudden shift has definitely raised eyebrows, coming as a startling move. Both companies are owned by the giant GVC which aims at making partypoker the biggest in the world which has lately gained immense popularity. The merger would surely strengthen its base in the UK market and increase the number of players in the room.

The first newsletter to Coral Poker players went out on 28 November. There were no other notes and notices in the poker society neither on the Gala Poker’s home page. The email underlines that all cash balances will move from iPoker to the partypoker Network, but bonus balance and poker points earned on iPoker will expire on 3 December.

The step taken is quite unexpected and sudden. Players were taken by surprise who identified that the reason for the switch could be similar to the closure of Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) a while back. Playtech, the owner of iPoker might be considering similar changes. However, it would have been certainly better to give the players more time to spend their hard-earned poker bonuses.

A couple of weeks ago, the iPoker Network announced picking up the Russia-facing Red Star Poker and announcing its move to pick several more MPN skins. Nevertheless, Coral Poker got away integrating with the fastest growing network, partypoker, which will now observe the sixth online poker room on the network after partypoker, bwin, partypoker.fr, partypoker.es, and partypoker Sweden.
