‘CmeNOmore’ claims Mega Freeze title on Spartan

Yesterday was the first day of tournament action after the Spartan Super Series (SSS) concluded on The Spartan Poker. While a sense of normalcy has prevailed, there are still quite a few big tournaments being played out on the various online poker platforms in India. One of these tournaments is the Mega Freeze INR 6 Lakh GTD.

As the name suggests, this is a freezeout tournament that takes place every Monday night at 7:30pm on Spartan. With a buy-in of INR 5,500, the format is one where you can’t return once you’ve busted your stack. A total of 118 unique entries registered to last night’s Mega Freeze and the prize pool was shared among the top 17 players with a minimum cash prize of INR 9,420.

At the end of the night, there’s always going to be just one winner and yesterday, that winner was ‘CmeNOmore’, who outlasted all the other entries and took away the top prize of INR 1,50,960. This was a well-deserved victory as he had to beat some top players to win it, including Sahil Agarwal aka ‘Nasheyy’ in heads-up.

Agarwal is an extremely popular online and live poker and he has plenty of big poker achievements to his name. He ended as runner-up in this tournament and was awarded INR 1,02,000 for his run, when the tournament finally came to an end in Level #38 at 12:53am this morning.

Coming to the final hand, CmeNOmore was slightly ahead in the chip counts when it took place. Agarwal decided to go all-in without seeing the flop with his hand of Qd 9c, and CmeNOmore made the call with 6c Kh. It was an exciting hand that ended with CmeNOmore winning on the river.

Agarwal hit a pair of Queens when the flop opened Qs 2h Td and CmeNOmore would’ve been hoping for a King to open up. 8d opened on the turn and the player’s hopes would’ve died down a little but the Kd on the river gave him a pair of Kings which won him the pot and the Mega Freeze title as well.
