Chou Chien Fa wins inaugural PKC Taiwan Main Event

The Poker King Cup (PKC) has been a popular fixture on the live poker calendar of Asian players since a few years now. Their most recent stop was at the up and coming venue of Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTPA) in Taipei, Taiwan, and this first-ever PKC Taiwan series turned out to be a fairly successful one.

At most live or online poker series, the Main Event is often the biggest highlight and here too, the TWD 27,500 Main Event was the biggest attraction. The series lasted between 16-20 August and so did the Main Event, with 3 starting flights and two more official days that followed.

By the end of Day 3, it was local boy Chou Chien Fa who emerged victorious, beating Filipino pro David Erquiaga in heads-up and bagging the top prize of TWD 1,639,000 ($52,300) for his efforts. It was a star-studded Final Table that saw UK’s Alex Lindop also making a good run, busting out in third place for TWD 739,700. There were players of 7 different nationalities on this Final Table!

“I don’t play all that many events and I’m not a professional poker player, so I wasn’t thinking too much about it on the table during the game. However, I’m very happy! I finished runner-up in the Red Dragon before, and while this is a slightly smaller event than that, and my favourite buy-in range is HKD 15,000-20,000 (~$1,900-2,500), so this was a little lower, but it still feels very good to win,” said Fa after taking down the inaugural PKC Taiwan Main Event title!
