CBS Sports has announced its broadcasting contract with the World Poker Tour (WPT). WPT is going places, and poker fans can watch all upcoming WPT programming, and some select past events on the CBS Network. CBS has added WPT programming to its repertoire, and part of the WPT programming is an edited version of WPT’s Season XXI. According to news reports, CBS has signed a multi-year deal with the poker behemoth.
CBS is no stranger to poker programming, though. Since 2021, it has had World Series of Poker (WSOP) programming. The deal will have CBS broadcast all of WPT programming beginning in November 2024. The channel will first broadcast the 2023 series, WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship, where Josh Reichard shipped the championship and his first WPT title, taking home $839,300.
The deal means that CBS will now broadcast future WSOP series and tournaments, thereby giving poker fans a chance to experience the action from the comfort of their homes. WPT is one of the few poker companies that broadcast its series and probably other programming on television.

WPT is one of the oldest names in the poker industry. It started operating in 2002, and its most prominent poker series is the WPT Main Tour, which awards the WPT Champions Club trophy to all winners. The cup is one of the most prestigious awards in the poker industry.
WPT has been televising its series on Bally Sports and BT Sports and broadcasting its WPT television show in more than 150 countries and territories. It also has an app, WatchWPT, where poker enthusiasts can watch previous WPT series, and it has 150 episodes archived.
This development means that American audiences will get a close-up look at the world of poker, which could begin with the current World Poker Tour season, which includes the WPT World Championship and the ClubWPT Gold $5 Million Invitational Freeroll. WPT is, therefore, going from strength to strength and becoming a bigger name in the poker industry.

CBS, the full name of which is the Columbia Broadcasting System, is one of the oldest television networks in America. It is popular for its police procedural series, such as Blue Blood and NCIS. One of its most interesting series is The Equalizer spin-off, where Queen Latifah helps people using her unique skills.
It is refreshing to see that poker programming is gaining a mainstream presence in America and other countries, making more people aware of the game and the grit, skill and determination that goes into making a champion at the felt. Even in India, Jio Cinema has been streaming the Poker Sports League and even streamed PSL6 this year, and as discussed with Kunal Patni, the captain of the winning team, it could be a precursor to a national broadcaster broadcasting poker on a cable channel.
