Calvin Ayre To Draw The Curtains On His Popular Gaming News Site

International gaming news website CalvinAyre.com will no longer be operational, states a news report. The news website was launched in 2009 and is owned by billionaire Calvin Ayre. The publication covered news from gaming, sports, lifestyle, stories related to Bitcoin and gambling news. Leading poker writer Paul Seaton and others who contributed to the site will also bid adieu to the platform. CalvinAyre.com is a part of the Ayre group which is one of the largest multinational organizations headquartered in the country of Antigua in the Caribbean.

Here’s what the website tweeted:

The announcement of the website shutting down came at a time when the brand decided to focus on cryptocurrency. For the past five years, Ayre has been deeply involved in the world of cryptocurrency and he believes that his focus should be on it, state news reports. In a press release, Ayre mentioned, “BSV is not just a frictionless payments solution; its unparalleled scaling capacity offers unthinkable possibilities for data management.”

In May 2016, Dr. Craig Wright revealed that Ayre had backed him financially, in his business operation to the tune of $30 million. In August 2017, Ayre acquired Coingeek.com, a cryptocurrency news site. News reports suggest that Coingeek operations were the biggest Bitcoin Cash miner in the world by July 2018. Just four months later, Ayre fully supported and backed up Bitcoin as it is the future of cryptocurrency.

This platform will be shutting down after being active for the past 10 years. The website now encourages people to look for possibilities in Bitcoin and redirects traffic to CoinGeek.com. In a concluding statement on the website, Ayre added, “My primary focus may have changed, but you never forget your first love.”
