Modi flopped a set on the board of 4 ♠ 9 ❤ 2 ❤ , and naturally, Modi bet again with 5,000 chips, Anand raised and shoved all-in with 32,000, Modi happily called. The turn and river opened to Q ♦ 8 ♦ respectively. Anand’s pocket aces proved fateful as he busted at the hands of pocket fours. Maybe a raise preflop instead of just limping with his aces in order to trap Modi would have saved Anand from this bad beat.
