Bryn Kenney has made history at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series 2024 Monte Carlo. He hasn’t just shipped an event and added a considerable sum to his bankroll; he made the highest amount ever that any player has made in live poker—a life-altering $70 Million. Kenney took home $4,410,000 as the prize, beating a field of 159 players.
The runner-up to Kenney’s dream run was Wai Leong Chan, who had to contend with the prize money of $2,970,000. Chan and Kenny were locked in a heads-up battle, with Chan holding a narrow lead over Kenny in the beginning.
In the tenth round, Kenney had ace-jack while Chan held a pair of kings. Kenney raised aggressively, and Chan quickly called. Chan was in a strong position and just one card away from his first Triton title, but Kenney drew a third jack, reducing Chan’s stack significantly. In the next round, Chan received ace-king and doubled his stack, though he still faced a challenging comeback.
Chan hoped to double his stack again with ace-nine, but Kenney’s sixes won with a strong hand on a board filled with fives, leaving Chan’s higher cards without any help in the remaining draws. This victory marked Kenney’s fourth title overall and his second tour championship.
