Brian Rast Named 2023 Poker Hall Of Fame Inductee

The WSOP Poker Hall of Fame has finally announced its 2023 inductee. Six-time WSOP bracelet winner Brian Rast has been inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame after a tally of votes. With the induction, Rast became the 62nd member of the Poker Hall of Fame exclusive club.

WSOP announced Rast’s induction and awarded the honour to the 41-year-old. Rast was first facilitated inside the Paris Ballroom. Post that, he was headed to the designated Hall of Fame Poker Room at the Horseshoe Casino, wherein an official photo ceremony took place, followed by the annual $1,979 buy-in Poker Hall of Fame bounty tournament.

Talking about Rast’s induction, WSOP Vice President Jack Effel said, “With a nearly 20-year-long career riddled with record-breaking wins and historic runs, Brian Rast is one of the best poker players we’ve ever seen. With the 2023 WSOP breaking records left and right, it only makes sense to put a record-setter himself amongst some of the greatest of all time. We are honoured to induct Brian Rast into the Poker Hall of Fame and look forward to his successes to come.”

Who Is Brian Rast?

Brian Rast is a Stanford dropout who quit college to pursue a career as a full-time poker professional in 2004. Rast flaunts six WSOP gold bracelets. He won his first two WSOP bracelets at the 2011 WSOP. The first one came at the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold ’em event, beating Allen Kessler in heads-up and earning $227,232.

Rast has total live poker earnings of $25,258,945, with his highest live cash being $7,525,000. He won the biggest cash of his career in 2015 after taking down the first-ever NLH Super High Roller Bowl.

How Was Brian Rast Inducted Into The Poker Hall of Fame?

Brian Rast is one of poker’s biggest names. He is one of the few players to have more than $1 Million in tournaments for over seven years in a row. He currently takes the 29th place on poker’s All-Time Money list.

As far as WSOP is concerned, Rast has managed to create history twice at this year’s 2023 WSOP season. He took down the $50,000 Poker Players Championship event to become the 19th person in WSOP history to win six WSOP bracelets and the second player in WSOP history to have won the event thrice. Poker pro Michael Mizrachi too, holds the record.

Several notable pros from the industry praised and congratulated Rast on his induction.

Rast reacted to his induction, saying, “I am very pleased to receive this recognition for the work I have put into my craft during my entire adult life. I am deeply honoured to be chosen.”
