‘Ballaladeva’ wins 2nd Destiny on Spartan

Midweek excitement continues as Wednesday night saw another Destiny tournament winner at TheSpartanPoker.com. Many regs, pros and past Destiny winners participated and many of them made good scores in the tournament as well. The tournament which began at 8:30 pm ran for 10 hours straight drawing a participation of 300 players from across country making for a prizepool of INR 15,00,000. Top 25 players took a share of the prizepool with a min cash of INR 9,000.

Coming out on top was ‘Ballaladeva’ who took down this second Destiny tournament of the second edition for INR 4,00,000 first place prize. He also wins an additional ticket worth INR 1 Lakh to the Destiny SnG Finale which is scheduled for 29 October. ‘Ballaladeva’ now joins Devang ‘ghadiyaal’ Yadav (winner of last week’s Destiny) in the October SnG Finale.

‘Ballaladeva’ defeated Ajay ‘maybe59’ Agarwal in heads-up battle in Level #38 with blinds running 17,500-35,000-3,500. ‘maybe59’ moved all-in pre-flop with Ks 2c and ‘Ballaladeva’ called with Kd 9h. The board ran 5s 3c 5h 5c 6c which gave three of a kind to both players but ‘Ballaladeva’s’ better kicker Nine won him that pot and the title.

While ‘Ballaladeva’ was unavailable for comment, Gutshot was able to speak to the runner-up Agarwal who said, “I started playing the satty for Destiny at 6:45 pm and ended up winning ticket at around 8:25pm just five minutes before the start of the main Destiny tournament and we were done by 4:45am. So, it was overall 10 hours of thrilling poker!”

“It was a test of skill and patience. I was card dead for almost 90 minutes during the late stages of the tournament. I was the shortest stack for most of the time but survived somehow. I was 8/8 when we reached the final table. However things turned for the better there. Pockets Jacks gave me a triple up. A few hands later, pocket Aces boosted my stack by almost 4 times. I regret that I couldn’t finish it off. Nevertheless, It was an amazing experience,” he added.

Some notable money finishers in this tournament were former Spartan Super Series Super HighRoller and Destiny winner Sahil ‘Variance’ Agarwal who made it to 5th place for INR 97,500, former India Poker Championship 10K Kickoff 2015 winner Mani ‘king.of.Queens’ Singh in 8th place for INR 36,000, APT package winner Ankur ‘aryan89’ Aryan at 13th place for INR 22,500, Ankush ‘nirvana89’ Aryan at 15th place for INR 22,500, Destiny winner Anirban ‘pokernoob’ Das at 16th place for INR 13,500 and online reg Vishal ‘vishaltulsya’ Tulsyan at 18th place for INR 13,500.
