Avneesh Munjal among title winners on SVS Day 4


Assuring a hefty INR 91+ Lakhs, the Spartan Value Series (SVS) is coming closer to its end, promising each low/mid-stake player a chance to win big! Spartan Poker hosts varying tournaments and series, always attracting the country’s poker enthusiasts. And here is a complete summary of SVS Day 4

SVS Event #16 INR 30k GTD

The first tournament came with the lowest buy-in of INR 110 and 250 players took to their seats. The prize pool was eventually shared among the top 17 places with each one ensured a min-cash of INR 471. The first title of SVS Day 4 belonged to ‘paisanikalbc’ after the players settled for a heads-up deal. And with ‘paisanikalbc’ carrying a larger stack of 302k pushed ‘ProPhecY’ to the runner-up position.

SVS Event #17 INR 60k GTD

The second tournament of the day saw the buy-in step a little higher to become INR 275, attracting a total number of 211 players. Only a smaller chunk of 17 places ended in the money for a min-cash of INR 942. Dominating the field was ‘hpmaya’ who beat ‘FunkeyFox’ in heads-up with his higher pair of Aces against his opponent’s single pair of Nines.

SVS Event #18 INR 65k GTD

As the tournament progressed, the third event attracted 143 players entering for a buy-in of INR 385. The top 13 places were paid out a minimum cash of INR 1,332. ‘Yashi9696’ emerged as the champion of the night after winning the third tournament of the day. The event ended with 4 players settling for a deal and with the rise of the eventual winner ‘Yashi9696’ who took home the winner’s prize money after being announced the official winner. The champion was followed by ‘Pokerpro5553’ in the second place, ‘Spact’ in the second position and ‘popeyeman’ in the third.

SVS Event #19 INR 1.5 Lakhs GTD

The guaranteed amount keeps increasing as the day progresses. The second last event saw 197 players entering for a buy-in of INR 770. It was ‘Rohro’ who claimed the title after the players struck a 3-way deal and with ‘Rohro’ carrying the largest stack added another feather to his poker cap. The prize pool was eventually shared by the top 17 places each collecting a min-cash of INR 2,355.

SVS Event #20 Hi-Fi INR 5 Lakhs GTD

Hi-Fi is a regular tournament hosted at the end of the day always attracting a good field and this time 349 players enter, and each paid a buy-in of INR 1,650. Walking away with the enormous prize money online crusher Avneesh Munjal aka ‘IamAM’ who knocked out ‘chillivey’ in heads-up.

In level 39 of the tournament, both players, Munjal and ‘chillivey’ holding pocket Tens and Twos respectively. The latter shoves while the former calls on pre-flop. Munjal hit trip tens on flop while turn found ‘chillivey’ trip Twos. Munjal railed out his opponent to seize the first-place prize money and boost his poker bankroll.

SVS – The Millionaire Lite

Guaranteeing INR 50 Lakhs GTD, the Millionaire Lite is a part of the SVS series. And yesterday concluded Day 1B of the multi-flight tournament with another set of 717 entries, each one chipped in a buy-in of INR 1,650. Powering through this field was a prominent face in the virtual felts, Anant Purohit aka ‘Pro’ accumulating the largest stack of 2,54,547 followed by Ashish Ahuja aka ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ bagging 2,10,715 chips. Day 1C of the tournament is scheduled to take place today, 22nd December.
