Aussie Millions: 3 Indians progress to Day 3 of the Main Event!

Grabbing public attention, the 2020 Aussie Millions down the lane of Melbourne is hosting the much-awaited Main Event. Several poker fanatics have reserved their seats so far in the seven-day long-winded tournament. Undoubtedly, marking an end to the India Poker Championship (IPC) and APT Vietnam Kickoff 2020, the Aussie Millions is gaining tremendous attention, especially by the Indian players.

A total of 820 players registered themselves for A$10,600 eventually generating a prize pool of A$8,200,000. The Main Event just fell short of few entries to match last year’s record of 823 grinders. Coming back to Day 2 led by Kazuhiko Yotsushika, in-charge of 388 players, with each one hunting for A$1,850,000 well-reserved for the ultimate champion. The toughest field comprising of players like Kahle Burns, World number 1 Bryn Kenney, Steve O’Dwyer and so on couldn’t pull down Jordan Tentori (picture above) who amassed the biggest stack of 439,700 sitting slightly ahead of Shao Liu with 410,000 chips and Gareth Pepper bagging 400,400 chips, knotting the top 3 players.

Day 2 starts off with several Indians in the contention and by the end of the grinding session, only 3 Indians including Paawan Bansal (picture below) (355,800), Rishabh Vekaria (312,200), Rahul Melwani (124,900) progressed further while Indian duo Sandeep Chatlani, Anish Kumar walked away empty-handed.

While several stellar grinders made it through the day, the former winners Ami Barer, David Gorr, Toby Lewis, Manny Stavropoulos, and Tyron Krost lost their chances. And Kenney remains the sole former champion still in the hunt.

Day 3 of the Main Event will commence with 160 players returning to Crown Melbourne out of which only 88 finishers will share the prize pool.
