The Asian Poker Tour is one of the most prominent poker tours in Asia and the global poker community. It is all set to return to Manila this year. While more details are still to be revealed, the tour could be held from 28th October to 7th November 2024.
The tour was relaunched with new management just two years ago. The announcement of the Manila tour is one of the major announcements made under it. Rumours say that the Manila tour is set to have more than eighty events. Since 2022, APT has held several tours in Asia, including Hanoi, Da Nang, Taipei, Phu Quoc, and Incheon. Manila has been featured on the maps of several poker series that took place in the Asian sub-continent, including the Asia Pacific Poker Tour, which has been hosting events in Manila since 2007. It has some of the most popular casinos, offering poker players and tournament managers some of the best amenities and experiences, like the Hyatt Manila.

The Manila tour will follow the Taipei leg, which takes place from 27th September to 7th October. With another major tour making its way to the Asian subcontinent, the game and its fans are destined for some exciting times ahead. APT has partnered with City of Dreams and Soul Poker Club for its Manila outing.
The last time APT was in Malina, the tour, APT Philippines 2022 III, took place from 15th to 27th November at Newport World Resorts. The tour had 41 events, with 2893 entries. Moses Saquing shipped the Main Event and took home ₱4,915,000 ($86,100). Paul Kiem shipped the Championships Event and took home ₱ 4,196,300.
There are already rumours that with the return, APT might have a record-breaking GTD planned, as that would attract the who’s who of the top poker players. APT has had several events in Resorts World Manila, and in 2013, it hosted the Guinness World Records Longest Continuous Poker Tournament at the venue, the APT-RWM Iron Man Poker Challenge.
The Asian Poker Tour’s roots go back a long way. Founded in 2006, the tour has staged more than 100 major and minor events. Since its inception, the event has also changed ownership hands, with AsianLogic acquiring the brand in 2008 and APT Events Private Limited buying it in June 2022.

In 2023, APT also had newly designed trophies for the prize winners. The 2023 leg had seven events, and it lasted from 6th February to 9th December. The tour took place in Hanoi, Phu Quoc, Taipei City, Da Nang, and Incheon, with Shimuzu Nozomu taking home the prize money of $470,894 in the first place. In 2023, APT Taipei was held between 28th February and 10th March, with more than 100 events held at various venues,
It remains to be seen what plans the management has for APT 2024 Manila.
