Asian Poker Tour adds Taiwan to their 2019 schedule

We often talk about the rapid rise about the sport of poker in countries like India and overall in the continent of Asia. We now also have a lot to show for this rapid rise, thanks greatly to the Asian Poker Tour (APT), a company which is doing its part in helping the game grow in Asia.

We’re in the latter half of the year 2018 and APT just has a couple of more stops before their 2018 season ends. The 2019 schedule has already been announced and the company is slowly adding to what already is a very packed schedule. Only a few days back, the company announced APT Japan 2019 in February, which would be their first ever tournament series in the land of the rising sun.

It didn’t take them very long to add another new stop to their 2019 poker calendar, announcing APT Taiwan 2019 which will be played between 20 February and 3 March 2019, shortly after the stop in Japan. Just like APT Japan, this will also be the first ever APT series held in Taiwan.

The series is set to be held at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP) room in Taipei, Taiwan, and the schedule for this, the third APT stop of the year, will be out soon. The CTP Room is Taipei’s largest poker room which can easily accommodate 25 tournament tables along with a RFID live-streaming table.

Lloyd Fontillas, APT Executive Tournament Director and General Manager, commented on this new Asian offering, saying, “As the market leader in bringing world-class poker tournament events to new destinations in and around Asia, the Asian Poker Tour in partnership with the Chinese Texas Holdem Poker Association, are proud to bring the first APT event to Taipei.”

CTP President David Tai also commented on the same, saying, “We are happy and excited to be hosting the very first APT event here in Taiwan. Players for sure will have a great time being in the vibrant city of Taipei which has so much to offer: great food, site seeing, shopping, night life, we have it all.”

The 12-day APT Taiwan 2019 series will feature a TWD 33,000 (~INR 78,300) Main Event and a TWD 49,500 (~INR 1.17 lakh) Championships Event, along with several side events and satellites also scheduled. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for all updates on the APT Taiwan 2019 series.
