Ashwin Vijay Leads Day 1 of DPT 2024 Grand Mystery Bounty
DPT Grand 2024 kicked off yesterday with the ₹40,000 buy-in Mystery Bounty Day 1. This event has set the pace for a very competitive Day 2. The event saw 137 entries, and by the end of Day 1, only 32 players remained in the fray, which gives us an idea of how competitive the play is turning out to be.
At the end of Day 1 last night, Ashwin Vijay led with the highest chip stack, followed by Kishore Kumar by a narrow margin. As Day 2 resumes today, we can expect some intense and extreme poker action before the event winner is crowned.

On Day 1, some popular poker players were knocked out, including Gunisha Sinha, who recently placed 15th in the PokerBaazi G.O.A.T 2024 tournament. Dhaval Mudgal and Shardul Parthasarathy were other popular poker regs who bid adieu after the registration shut.
Vijay is increasingly becoming popular on the poker scene and is seen as one of the most promising poker players in the country. According to Hendonmob, his first cash was at WSOP 2020 at event #57, in the GGPoker GGMasters WSOP Edition (Freezout), where he took home $1,674. Vijay has seen money in Asian events as well, at the U Series of Poker and Poker Dream, and his best live cash was $4,289 at USOP Hai Phong 2024. It remains to be seen what Vijay will achieve this time around at the felts of the Deltin Poker Tournament.

The Mystery Bounty event is one of several that this ‘grand’ series is hosting. DPT Grand 2204 will be held from 22nd to 28th October at the Deltin Royale Casino. Prior to the Mystery Bounty event, Sagar Raj shipped one of the first DPT Grand events, becoming one of the first players to get the DPT Bracelet and the prize money of ~₹18 Lakh.
DPT is one of the biggest names in the Indian poker industry. It is popular for all the poker events that it holds in India, which bring some of the biggest poker names from all over the world to India’s shores. This is the first event DPT Grand edition part of the Deltin Poker Tournament franchise.
