Ashish Ahuja takes down a Destiny 11.0 title on Spartan Poker

Yesterday saw yet another winner on Destiny 11.0 INR 25 Lakhs GTD. The most popular featured tournament on Spartan Poker, Destiny has grown as a tournament series. The event usually attracts a massive field, but yesterday was better than usual.

The tournament kicked off at 8:00 pm with a buy-in of INR 5,500 and registered 572 players (including 131 re-entries, 203 rebuys). The prize pool exceeded the guaranteed amount and INR 28.6 Lakhs was shared among the top 50 places. The winner of the night was a well-known poker player of the country, Ashish Ahuja who plays under the name ‘Spewushhhiiiii’.

As the tournament concluded at 3:54 am yesterday, Ashish Ahuja emerged victorious taking with him an enormous amount for first-place prize money. He beat Utsav Taneja aka ‘CAsek’ in heads-up battle. The tournament was at level #47 and Ahuja entered the last hand with a larger stack. The board opened 6d 5c 9h 9s 9d. Ahuja shipped the tournament with his 3d 3h making a full house on the river and pushing Taneja on to the second position.

Ahuja is one of India’s leading poker players, playing both live as well as online tournaments. He was also witnessed as one among several Indian participants to enter WSOP 2019 in Las Vegas recently. Already holding total live earnings of $120k+, Ahuja still has a long way to go.
