Ashish Ahuja Ships IPF Main Event For 17 Lakh

The India Poker Festival (IPF) on MPL Poker finally drew curtains with the conclusion of the Main Event on 5th June 2022. The Main Event (ME) came to an end with poker pro Ashish Ahuja clinching the Main Event title and adding ₹17,00,000 to his bankroll.

Talking about the ME, the much-awaited tournament had eight starting flights namely Day 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, 1G and 1H. Each starting flight featured a buy-in of ₹5,500. 1,773 entries locked horns across the eight starting flights. Day 1A welcomed 214 entries and 50 re-entries, Day 1B saw 221 entries and 35 re-entries, Day 1C witnessed 207 entries and 27 re-entries, Day 1D had 252 entries and 78 re-entries, Day 1E saw 189 entries and 63 re-entries, Day 1F had 198 entries and 54 re-entries, Day 1G witnessed 225 entries and 136 re-entries, while Day 1H had 267 entries and 177 re-entries competing for the ultimate title.

Out of these, only 190 survivors successfully made it to Day 2 of the ME. Manohar Chaudhary, who qualified for Day 2 via flight Day 1D entered Day 2 with the highest stack of 577,724 chips at his disposal. Finally, the top 185 places grabbed a portion of the prize pool.

Ahuja successfully beat Indu Kumari in the heads-up battle to gloriously win the ME title. Kumari, who finished second, grabbed a pay cheque of ₹11,00,000. Rahul Kumar finished third spot for ₹6,50,000.

Talking about his victory, Ahuja said, “It was indeed special to ship the IPF Main Event. It was a competitive field and taking it down was truly amazing. It was the first time MPL Poker hosted a poker series at such a huge scale, and it was truly fun to play on MPL Poker.”
