Arun Karthik wins Spartan SSS Sunday SuperStack

The month’s Spartan Super Series (SSS) is all in the books with yesterday’s Day 5 conducting a total of 5 events. One of those offerings on the day was the feature tournament of the day SSS #25 Sunday SuperStack INR 30 Lakhs GTD.

The tournament was hosted with a buy-in of INR 5,500, which attracted a sizeable field of 541 entries (including 104 re-entries and 168 re-buys). The tournament began at 8 pm last night on Spartan Poker.

The player to top the field and bag the title was Arun Karthik aka ‘Arun Karthik’. He took home INR 5,82,000 as the first-place cash prize beating ‘ramprasad’ in heads-up. Karthik, in the last hand, was with over 3:1 chip lead and dealt the final slash on his opponent after a tough grind on Spartan.

The final hand of the tournament had Karthik with Qs Ac against ramprasad’s Kh Jd. The pre-flop round saw both raising and re-raising, which eventually culminated in Karthik shoving all-in, to which ramprasad called. The board ran Ts 5d 3d 6s 6d and gave both Sixes, but Karthik won with a higher Ace-kicker. The runner-up settled for INR 3,69,000 as the 2^nd place prize money.

Karthik sure has bagged an incredible amount last night. Among his siginificant live cashes was his recent FT finish 2019 DPT Main Event won by Ankit Kapoor. Such cash prizes won by a budding player provides great incentives for them to indulge more in poker and this bankroll addition will surely figure in Karthik’s upcoming spending on buy-ins.

Spartan also hosted the Main Event yesterday, which had an awesome INR 75 Lakhs GTD. The winner of this month’s SSS #24 Main Event was ‘propernit’ who took home INR 14,47,500 as the first-place cash prize.
