WPT Championship Cambodia is ongoing, and information about the winners and the players is now trickling in. And Indian poker player Arjun Agrawal has created a proud moment for India by shipping the Megastack Mini HR event, taking home $33,524 (~₹29,10,427).
The total prize pool was $93,120, and there were 64 entries for the challenge, a grind that lasted for around 12 hours. Agrawal was the shortest stack in the final three but took a minor lead as the game went into heads up. The final ITM list had nine names, and Agrawal topped the board with A ♠ K ♦ , diminishing Tom Verbruggen’s 10 ❤ Q ♠

This is a massive win for Arjun, whose best live cash to date has been ₹1,85,000 at Event #1 of the Deltin Poker Tournament 2019. He first saw money in a poker tournament in 2016, a formidable amount of ₹40,000 at the Kick-Off event of the Deltin Poker Tournament.

This proves Arjun has come a long way in his poker journey, and it remains to be seen where the talented player will next stop. Arjun’s victory is also an inspiration for other younger poker players, who will understand what opportunities are available for poker players all over the world and in India.

The WPT Cambodia Championship is currently taking place at the NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh. It began on the 6th and will end on the 24th of February 2025. The flagship event has at least $1.5 million in prize money and a buy-in of $3,500. There are at least 63 tournaments, and the buy-ins range from $200 to $20,000.
