Arjanveer Chadha beats Ahuja to win Sunday Stacks title

You must know of Arjanveer Chadha if you consider yourself a part of the Indian poker industry. Regardless of whether he plays live or online, you always find him raking in the big bucks. On the virtual felts especially, he has had marvellous runs in the recent past. Last night too, he shipped a major poker tournament online.

9stacks (sign-up with code “GUTSHOT”) hosts Sunday Stacks INR 15 Lakh GTD every Sunday, which happens to be their biggest guarantee tournament and also their most popular tournament. The latter is obviously because it offers the most money in prizes. Last night’s title however, had Arjanveer Chadha’s name written all over it, beating a good friend in heads-up to take down the tournament.

Chadha plays as ‘ballistik’ on 9stacks and this would be his first major title under this screen name. He and Ashish Ahuja happen to be good friends off the felts and yesterday, the duo would’ve had quite a lot of fun playing together, with the former taking away the top prize and bragging rights between the friends.

Chadha took home the top prize of INR 2,92,500 and this came after he beat Ahuja in the final hand at 2:50am this morning. Both paid the buy-in of INR 5,500, as did all of the 249 entries last night. From these, the top 49 were paid out with the minimum prize being set at INR 10,500.

While many known names took part, not many of them reached the FT, except Mayank Jaggi aka ‘alwayslimpAA’ who exited in 8th place. Ahuja, who plays as ‘HakoonahMatata’ finished second best on the night and was rewarded with INR 1,91,250. He has been having a brilliant run recently, having won last week’s Sunday Stacks and then also Wanderers soon later.
