APT Vietnam: Vincent Li wins High Rollers; Chutani 6th

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam, currently underway at Pro Poker Club is shining in the eastern region. With Akshay Nasa triumphing the Main Event after a 10-hour grind on Day 2, the other Indians in attendance are charged up. The entire series lines up by 23 events and recently the single-day Super High Roller (No POS pts.) came to a standstill.

A VND 107 million buy-in was brought down to VND 54 million, cutting the cost, the now ‘High Rollers’ tournament observed 31 players registering themselves. The field, however, was smaller yet managed to create quite a healthy prize pool of VND 1.5 billion. Eventually, paychecks were received by the top 6 players.

Taking away the biggest chunk of this pot was Hong Kong’s Vincent Li after finishing second in two High Rollers in the on-going series. Placed at 19th in Hong Kong’s All-time money list after accumulating his total live earnings of over $661k, Li pocketed VND 572 million (~INR 17.76 Lakh) lifting the golden trophy after beating the Australian Josh McCully in heads-up.

If you are following APT these days, you must be knowing the strong Indian representation in Vietnam. Likewise, the sole Indian to cash in this tournament was Sahil Chutani making it to the final 6 and taking home a sum of VND 84 million (~INR 2.60 Lakh), taking his total live earnings past $170k.

Top 6 final payouts:

  1. Vincent Li – VND 572,050,000
  2. Josh McCully – VND 351,340,000
  3. Chun Yu Ma – VND 228,110,000
  4. Nguyen An Khang – VND 156,020,000
  5. Nguyen Bao Chau – VND 111,980,000
  6. Sahil Chutani – VND 84,000,000

And now is the time to prep up for another huge tournament scheduled from 13 to 17 November, followed by the Main Event, the Championships Event comes in with a guarantee of VND 6 billion. The players can enter with a buy-in of VND 38,500,000 across starting three flights of Day 1 and eventually to Day 2.
