APT to hold 2018 Championships in Macau

The Asian Poker Tour has announced that it will hold its flagship APT Championships in Macau next year, with the scheduled 25 April to 6 May dates to coincide with Japan’s Golden Week holiday.

The APT Macau Championships 2018 will be the second event held at Babylon Casino since the APT signed a five-year partnership agreement with Macau Billionaire Poker.

“With the APT Macau Championships 2018 announcement coming this early, and with it taking place in Macau during the prime time slot of Japan’s Golden Week, players can expect to see record-breaking fields in each and every event with a schedule made to cater to all types of bankrolls,” said APT tournament director Lloyd Fontillas.

The inaugural APT Championships, the brand’s biggest poker festival of the year, took place in April 2017 at Resorts World Manila in the Philippines and attracted 730 unique players over the course of the series, including 442 entries in the US$1,100 Main Event.

The Macau Billionaire Poker Room at Babylon fits 40 poker tables, with the recent MBP Hope Cup Main Event, which featured a HK$20 million guarantee, attracting a field of more than 800 entries.

The first scheduled APT event at Babylon will be the upcoming APT Finale Macau Championships 2017 from 29 November to 10 December.
