In what felt like an opportunity for India to bring home an Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taipei 2023 Super High Roller trophy ended on a bittersweet note. India’s Abhinav Iyer fought hard to reach the final table and ultimately fell in the third spot for a sum of ₹46,63,580. Iyer, who is India’s first solo WSOP bracelet winner, bowed out when his open shove against Jun Obara failed. Iyer recently finished 5th at WPT Prime India 2023 Main Event. This was Iyer’s yet another spectacular final table after his WPT Prime India 2023 Main Event stint. The pro has left many impressed with his game and everyone in the Indian poker circuit is waiting for him to clinch a live poker trophy soon.

United Kingdom’s Sam Lam who as per reports started playing poker only four month ago has pulled off a magnificent win in the form of the Super High Roller victory. For someone who was introduced to poker just four months ago, this one is a pure poker spectacle from Lam’s end. In his post-win interview, Lam said, “I was hoping to finish in the top five and go from there, I very much wanted to make the final table. I am very surprised, and my girlfriend was unsupportive of my poker play, but said she would consider changing her mind if I win something big.”
