APT Online: Paul Teoh triumphs Short Deck Championships!


Fast approaching the end of the prestigious inaugural 2020 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series on GG Network Natural8. Day 9 hosted another bunch of tournaments with Short Deck Championship being the major attraction. So far $2.8 million has been paid out and there’s still more to be won!

Short Deck Championships $25K GTD

 This was the fourth featured event of the APT Online series which nearly took six hours before the ultimate champion emerged. With a buy-in of $400 a total number 132 hopefuls joined the field, collecting a prize pool of $49,500 which was well-received by the top 20 finishers. Taking away the valuable title was Malayasia’s Paul Teoh aka ‘DingZhu88’ who outlasted ‘WinEasy’ in heads-up and seized $10,786 in prize money while his opponent banked $7,998.

Event 42: Short Deck $5,000 GTD

A total of 178 runners joined the field of Event #42 on Natural8 after chipping in $100. The advertised guarantee was crushed to create $16,643 in prize pool and the top 31 players made into the money. Powering through the field to capture the first-place prize money of $3,308 was ‘sgtPiet’ who also earned the APT trophy.

Event 43: No Limit Hold’em Freeze Out $10,000 GTD

The event 43 concluded with a heads-up deal between ‘Rollpounder’ and ‘The Pokermon’. With a buy-in of $200 a total of 192 entries pounced on the field to smash the guarantee and create $35,904 in prize pool. Ultimately, ‘Rollpounder’ clinched to the winner’s title while his opponent earned a slightly larger payout and settled in the runner-up position.

Event 44: NLH Turbo $10,000 GTD

Another attraction on Natural8 yesterday was NLH Turbo which displayed a buy-in of $50. Pulling out a pretty good field of 448 entries, only the top 71 players could earn a share from $20K prize pool. Claiming the APT Online title was ‘rapid11’ who knocked out four players at the final table and added $3,770 in prize money. The champion outlasted ‘dalyc’ in heads-up who secured $2,763 for settling in the second place.
