Shixiang Khoo ships the Main Event
After keeping his lead strong throughout the heads-up play which did not last that long. In the final hand, Khoo had two pairs against his rival’s Q-pair. The runner-up settled for a payday of VND 2,429,580,000 (~$102,040) while the winner will get a prize money of VND 3,935,285,000 (~$165,280).
Shinya Maeda
Level 34, blinds 150K/300K, big blind ante 300K
Shixiang Khoo had won a bunch of pots and kept his lead which meant Shinya Maeda had to go something to turn the game around in his favour. But sadly this player couldn’t spin it around and finished second.
In hand 150, Shixiang Khoo pushed 600,000 from the button position and his rival Shinya Maeda matched from the big blind position. The flop of Q♦ 7♣ J♥ led to Maeda check but Khoo fired 600,000. Maeda responded with a raise to 2,000,000; Khoo did not waste time and shoved all in. Maeda tanked for a bit but eventually made the call.
Khoo had K♥ J♦ and Maeda played with 9♣ T♣. The turn of 3♥ meant Khoo was one card away from winning the ME title. The river presented Q♠ and gave Khoo his Main Event victory while making Maeda the runner-up for VND 2,429,580,000 (~$102,040).

Shinya Maeda and Shixiang Khoo are all set for heads-up. These two will battle it out for the ultimate APT Da Nang July 2023 Main Event title and a payday of VND 3,935,285,000 ($165,280).
Daiki Shingae
Level 33, blinds 125K/250K, big blind ante, 250K
In hand 133, Daiki Shingae was limping from the small blind position. Shixiang Khoo raised to 1,000,000 which resulted on Shingae snap-shoving; Khoo immediately matched. Shingae played with 7♥ 7♣ and Khoo T♠ T♥. The pot had 20 Million chips in it and winning it would mean the player has a massive stack at hand.
The dealer fanned out 3♥ A♥ 6♦ 6♣ 4♠. This meant Khoo had better two pairs and Japan’s Shingae was out in the 3rd spot setting the stage for the remaining two players for a heads-up clash.
Yu-Chung Chang Takes The 4th Spot
Level 33, blinds 125K/250K, big blind ante, 250K
Yu-Chung Chang finishes 4th for a payday of VND 1,330,290,000 (~$55,870). In hand 132nd, Shixiang Khoo from under the gun limped while Yu-Chung Chang shoved for 3,800,000. The action fell back to Khoo, who matched putting Chang at risk. Chang had A♥ 4♣ while Khoo played with pocket sixes. The flop of 8♣ 9♥ Q♥ did nothing for Chang. The J♠ on turn and K♥ only leading to Khoo winning the hand and sending Chang home.

Nguyen Khac Cuong busted in the 5th place. In the 120th hand Shixianh Khoo made a bet of 400,000; Nguyen Khac Cuong matched. Daiki Shingae shoved all in with 4,400,000 which led to Khoo folding. Cuong put himself at risk after making the call.
Shingae had a Big Slick A♥ K♣ while Cuong played A♦ 7♦. Cuong was at risk and Shingae was looking to make the game a four-handed one. The broad ran out 2♠ 6♠ 5♣ 6♣ K♦. Shingae had two pairs which were good enough to eliminate Cuong in the 5th place for VND 1,053,920,000 (~$44,260).
Hung Manh Nguyen
Level 31, blinds 80K/160K, big blind ante 160K
Hung Manh Nguyen finished in the 6th place. Check out how he busted. Nguyen shoved for 275,000 and found callers in Shixianh Khoo and Yu-Chung Chang.
The flop brought A♦ J♦ 9♠ and both Khoo and Chang checked. The 7♦ on the turn and K♦ on the river once again saw both warring rival check. Chang showed 8♦ 3♥ to win with a flush and send his rival packing. Nguyen mucked K♣ 6♦ and took off with a pay cheque of VND 820,860,000 (~$34,380).
Yu-Chung Chang
Level 31, blinds 80K/160K, big blind ante 160K
Yu-Chung Chang is shining bright on the felts pf APT Da Nang ME as he takes on the chip leader position. How he did that? Keep reading further. Shixiang Khoo (J ❤ J ♦ ) bet 350,000 and Chang (A ❤ J♣) 3-bet to 2,100,000. There was a lot of thinking done from Khoo which reflected in his all-in move. Chang called and saw the board A♣ K♣ 4♣ 4 ♦ 3 ♦ . This gave Khoo two pairs and his rival had better two pairs with AA, 44.
The action at the final table is nothing that will make jaws drop. Players are scooping pots here and there. And with the game progressing ahead on a slow place, it will take a bit for any player to eliminate another one. Shixiang Khoo has the chip lead currently, but it remains to be seen if he can continue with his domination in the APt Da Nang ME final table.

Khoo responded with a snap-call. Cuong had pocket jacks and Khoo played Q♦ 6♦. The turn and river of 7♣ 3♠ respectively did no good for Khoo and his opponent doubled up safely.

Koangho Lee has been eliminated in 7th place for a payday of VND 598,110,000 (~$25,120). In hand 67, Lee went for a shove of 650,000 from under the gun position and his rival Daiki Shingae called.
Lee had K♣ 4♣ while Shingae had A♦ 3♠. The board ran out A♥ 2♥ T♦ J♣ K♥ which gave Shingae Ace-pair. It was time for the South Korean player to pack up.
The Naing Has Been Eliminated in 8th Place
Level 28, blinds 40K/80K, big blind ante 80K
It was game over for The Naing who had the third lowest stack getting into final table of the APT Summer Series, Da Nang Main Event July 2023. In the 25th hand of the day, Nguyen Khac Cuong opened to 180,000 and Daiki Shingae made the call. From the small blind position raise to around 1,600,000. Cuong folded and Shingae went for all-in.
Naing pushed his remaining chips in the middle and the cards were to be revealed. Naing had T♦ T♣ and his rival had pocket nines. K♥ J♦ 3♦ came on flop which was followed by a turn and river of 9♣ and A♠. Shingae hit found a set and Nain was sent packing at the 8th spot for VND 408,780,000 (~$17,170).
Tran Duc Tuan

In the 17th hand Shixiang Khoo opened with 160,000 and Tran Duc Tuan matched from the small blind position. The flop fell as 4♠ 6♦ 3♣ and it was checked by Tuan; Khoo fired 300,000 which saw his opponent going all-in with 1,200,000. Khoo called and the turn and river cards were revealed as A♠ and 5♣. Khoo sat with two pairs for a win and sent Tuan packing at the 9th spot for 323,810,000 (~$13,600).

Nopparat Kongjai (4♣ 3♠) defended his big blind after Hung Manh Nguyen (K♣ 9♣) opened to 100,000 from the button. The flop of 8♣ 9♥ 4♦ saw Kongjai check while Nguyen bet 90,000. Kongjai put in a min-raise to 180,000 but Nguyen 3-bet all in as Kongjai called. The 6♠ turn and the K♥ on river saw Nguyen get two pair and Nopparat Kongjai being eliminated in 11th place. He walks away with VND 264,000,000 (~$11,090).

Nguyen Hong Dang Lam
Hung Manh Nguyen (4♠ 4♥) opened up the action with 125,000 which saw Lam (9♣ T♠) move all in with 180,000. Nguyen made the call as it did not impact him put but put Lam at the risk of elimination. The flop came as 4♦ 5♦ J♥. Lam needed on the 9♦ turn but ended up drawing dead as the 4♣ river saw Nguyen’s had improve to quads. It was enough to eliminate Nguyen Hong Dang Lam for VND 218,410,000 (~$9,170) in 12th place.

Quan Qiu ( K♥ Q♥) shoved all in for 565,000 after Yu-Chung Chang (A♦ 6♦) opened to 100,000. The flop of 7♥ 5♥ Q♦ favored Qiu but the 4♦ turn gave Chang a flush draw.The 3♦ came up on the river to give Chang his flush and eliminated Quan Qiu in 13th place for VND 218,410,000 (~$9,170).

Pichai Rianjaroen
Pichai Rianjaroen was eliminated in 14th place. He ends up earning VND 197,790,000 (~$8,320). This hand saw Daiki Shingae, Tran Duc Tuan and Pichai Rianjaroen play on the K♥ K♠ Q♣ flop as the turn popped up an 8♠ which Maeda checked with Shingae betting 300,000. Tuan responded with a min-raise to 600,000 whcih saw Maeda fold. Shingae, also folded which hand Tuan the side pot and with 30,000 left for Tuan and Rianjaroen to battle it out. Tuan’s 9♣ 9♦ managed to get the better of Rianjaroen A♠ J♣ as the 7♥ eliminated Rianjaroen in 14th place.

Shixiang Khoo
Koang Ho Lee opened to 90,000 as Shixiang Khoo called form the big blind. The flop of 7♥ 9♥ 7♦ saw Khoo check while Lee bet 60,000. After it, Khoo decided to become the aggressor as he check-raised to 160,000 which was instantly called by Lee.
The turn 4♥ roped in the flush while both players checked to the river which popped up Q♠. Khoo bet 210,000 as Lee folded quickly to help Khoo be the tournament chip lead. With close to 4,000,000 chips, he is starting to pull away from the field.
Level 25: Blinds 20K/40K, big blind ante 40K
Hong Nguyen Dang Lam went all in with 175,000 as Shixiang Khoo made a 3-bet to 350,000 with both the plaeyrs going heads up. Lam, who had Q♦ 9♠ faced Khoo’s T♠ T♥ was on the verge of bidding goodbye after a flop of K♦ 8♠ Q♠ came up. However, the A♥ hit the turn and the 2♣ river saw her double up.

Frederic Bolliet is eliminated in 15th Place as he pockets VND 197,790,000 which converts to $8,320.Speaking about the hand, Bolliet 3-bet shoved for 205,000 after Naing made it 80,000 pre-flop. While Naing had A♠ Q♣, Bolliet held K♠ K♣ as the flop of A♦ Q♦ 7♣ opened up with 5♦ 3♥ coming on ending Frederic Bolliet stay on the table.

Players were handed a 15 minute break with 26 pros left to grind it all out at the APT Da Nang July 2023: Main Event. Later on, Jiyoung Kim’s run at teh event was ended by KoangHo Lee which boiled down the number of players remaingin to 24!With Just 24 players left, players got yet another quick break as the organizers did a seat redraw.
Hong Nguyen Dang Lam was a part of an controversial situation which saw Vladimir Litasov shove 212,000 chips and move all in. The action then moved to Lam who was in the big blind. She put in chips to make the call , with Litasov showing A♥ J♦. Later, Lam started to claim how she believed that the shove was for 112,000 and she didn’t want to call if the amount was 212,000.
It was explained to her that intentionally putting chips into the pot indicates a call and the chips cannot be take chips back She continued to argue her case but the floor remained firm which saw her make a forced call. Lam who held 6♥ 8♦ lost the pot to Litasov’s A♥ J♦ as the board showed Q♣ T♥ J♣ 7♥ 6♠ .
Kyle Bao is eliminated from the Main Event after he shoved all in while boasting Q♣ Q♠ against Koangho Lee with the South Korean player holding K♣ K♥. The American did not get any help from the board which popped up T♠ 3♠ K♦ with the turn card being A♠ and 3♣ coming out on the river. Eliminations are coming in thick and fast so far at Day 3 of APT Da Nang July 2023 Main Event.
Level 22, Blinds 10K/20K, big blind ante 20K
Speaking about the hand, Nguyen Chi Cong had moved all in with J ❤ J♦ against Chun Chieh Lun with the Taiwan based poker star holding A♣ Q ♦ . The flop came up as 7 ♦ 4♠ 6♠ which saw Cong’s chances of remaining in the tournament go up with the 9 ♦ on the turn almost solidifying the statement. However, A♥ on the river saw Chun Chieh Lun win the pot and bust out Cong.

Thailand’s Nopparat Kongjai ends Anuj Yadav’s run in the APT Da Nang July 2023 Main Event. Yadav, who held K♥ Q♣ decided to shoved all in and found a caller in Kongjai who had A♣ K♦. The board of 6♦ 8♣ 6♣ 5♥ J♣ did not have any queen which saw Kongjai’s ace high hand win the pot and eliminate the Indian poker pro.

Matthew Bevin chose to move all in after he was was down to his last 130,000. Needing to get through three players to pick up the blinds and ante, he got through the button and small blind, while Ming Huang chose to give him a spin at the big blind. Bevin held K♠ 9♠ while Huang had A♥ 7♠. The board popped up T♥ 7♦ T♦ 5♣ Q♦ which saw Huang take out yet another player in the Main Event.

This play saw Minh Huang open the button to 25,000 only to be jammed on by short stacked Van Dan Nguyen from big blind. He went all in for 115,000 total as Huang made the call. While Huang held Q♠ Q♦ Nguyen boasted T♠ T♦ as the board read 5♠ A♠ A♥ 2♦ 7♦ . This resulted in Nguyen being the first player to be eliminated on Day 3 of APT Da Nang July 2023 Main Event.
Hong Nguyen Dang Lam is slotted third on the leaderboard ahead of Day 3! However, Lam’s seat is empty with the player yet to come over the tabel. APT Summer Series, Da Nang Main Event (ME) Day 2 ended with 48 players surviving ahead. Leading the pack of survivors is Daiki Shingae. Day 3 will resume tomorrow at 12 PM local time. The total number of players at the ME stood at 297. The final prize pool at this coveted ME stood at VND 20,624,625,000 (~USD $867K). The top prize remains to be a cool sum of VND 3,935,285,000 (~$165,280).
Talking about the chip leader ahead of Day 3, Shingae had brought the largest stack at the APT Summer Series Hanoi Main Event as well. At this event Shingae finished in the 16th position for VND 156,200,000 and this was his only APT cash.
Coming to the Indian players, we have Anuj Yadav (325,000) and Amit Kaushik (252,000) who will compete for the top spot on Day 3. Online and live reg Yadav was the overall chip lead ahead of Day 2. Former APT Main Event winner Hai Nam Hoang moved all-in for 132,000 chips. He found a caller in Daiki Shingae from the big blind position. The dealer revealed the board as 6 ♦ 3 ❤ 9♠ 4 ♦ 4♠ . Hoang had A♠ Q♣ and Shingae had T♣ T ❤ . With two-pairs in his kitty, the latter won the hand and eliminated Hoang in the 49th position. Shingae now has 1,725,000 chips to battle it out further.
Armon Van Wijk bubbles the ME
Level 18, Blinds 4K/8K, big blind ante
Van Wijk had only 2,000 chips with him and used up five time-extension chips to push them into the pot. Sorakit Saengcharuern, Freddy Kwek, Tran Duc Tuan, Victor Em, and Charles Wong matched the bet for 8K.
Five players who were in contention checked all the way to the river hoping to eliminate Wijk and form the money bubble.
The dealer fanned out a board of 8 ❤ 3 ♦ 7 ♦ T ♦ 4 ♦ which brought the possibility of a flush for any player who has at least one diamond card. Wijk played with Q♣ Q♠ and it was difficult for him to survive this hand given the diamond heavy board.
Saengcharuern mucked his Q ❤ J♣ so. Kwek followed suit and mucked 6♣ 4♠. Tuan’s A ❤ 9♠ so did no good. Em showed T♠ J ❤ and was ahead for the side pot with his Ten but Hong Kong’s Wong stood there with 8♠ 5 ♦ to show off the flush made and thereby eliminating the Australian just ahead of money. Wijk finished in the 96th position.
Wijk as the bubble boy got a chance to get a random prize from APT President Neil Johnson. The bubble boy grabbed a Mini Main Event ticket worth VND 11,000,000. Something is better than absolutely nothing.
Level 18, Blinds 4K/8K, big blind ante
The players are on their final break of the APT Da Nang Main Event Day 2.
Australia’s John Nguyen moved all in for 29,000 as Wai Kin Wong decided to call. The cameras panned at the table as the cards were revealed. Nguyen had J♥ T♠ while Wong had K♥ 5♥ with the flop being K♦ J♦ Q♠ . The turn card came out as J♠ which pushed Nguyen into the lead with the river ofJ♣ gave Nguyen quads and the massive win!

Lam eliminated Jun Weng in a pot which saw both players boast flushes. Weng tabled 9♠ 7♠ while Lam had Q♠ 5♠ while the board read 3♦ K♠ 6♠ 8♠ J♣ with all the money in the middle. This saw Lam propel her stack up to 950,000 chips.
Just 148 players are left at the Main Event with 95 paid places as we edge closer to the APT Main Event bubble!
Level 14, Blinds 1500-3000, 3000 ante
Nguyen Trung Quan, who shipped the APT Phu Quoc Super High Roller is out of the Main Event. While it was diffcult for us to catch all the action, it seemed like Quan tried to bluffed off his chips with Tran Duc Tuan holding Ad 8s. with the board being K ♣ 4 ♣ T ♠ 3 ♣ 9 ❤ . Quan’s bluff failed as Tuan held Ac 5c to eliminate his fellow countryman.

Martijn Gerrits is no stranger to winning APT title. He has registered over $1,500,000 in live tournament winnings while pocketing five APT Titles so far. Doing well in the ongoing Main Event, and Gerrtis is hunting out for another one here.
Gerrits opened under the gun to 6,000 as Indian poker pro Amit Kaushik called from the big blind. The flop popped up as 5h 8c 3s as Kaushik checked with Gerrits betting 8,000. Kaushik decided to call as the turn came up as 2c. Both the players checked and waited for the river which was Ac. Kaushik placed a tiny bet of 3,500 as Gerrits instantly called as Kaushik displayed his Kh Jh with Gerrits showing Qh Qd taking the pot down.
Gerrits aims at his 6th APT Title
Matthew Bevin opened the action pre-flop by raising to 6,000 from early position. Luong Duy Hieu, who was the current chip leader on the button 3-bet to 12,000. Bevin, decided to play with all his chips and moved all in with 90,000 as Hieu called. While Bevin held Qd Qh, Hieu boasted Ac Kc.
Bevin wished Hieu good luck but as the poker gods blessed him for showing good sportsmanship with the flop coming as 8s Qc Js. The turn was 6d with Jd coming on the river pushing Bevin up the leaderboard with 200,000 chips.
Level 12: Blinds 1000-2000, 2000 ante
Jaturon Kamneungcunakorn and Ngoc Anh Cao played out a big pot. Cao fired a 35,000-chip river bet as the board read 2d Kc 9h 2c Ks while Kamneungcunakorn responding to the same with a shove. Cao, who sat with just over 20,000 chips remaining and was taking his own sweet time thinking about the call. However, after what felt like an eternity, Cao folded as Kamneungcunakorn showed his Kd Kh while taking the pot! Cao, who took his cards back from the center of the table showed how he boasted 9s 9d and folded a full house.
Hello and Good morning! We will see all surviving players who made it past the four initial flights lock horns against each other for the first time and feature on the Day 2 of the VND 35,000,000 APT Main Event. There were 271 stacks that managed to reach Day 2 from the 648 entries in the tournament. However, there will only be 270 in play as one player qualified twice m resulting in their shortest stack being removed from play.
With Registration remaining open till the start of play at 11am local time, we expect to the total prize pool and payout information to be released shortly thereafter.
India’s Anuj Yadav sits as teh chip lead, as he brings through the biggest stack of the opening flights with 328,600 chips. Former APT Main Event champion Hai Nam Hoang sits at (267,200), while Pham Duy Anh (251,400), and Gavin Flynn (192,200), are in the race with Amit Kaushik (192,000) also in the mix.
