APPT Manila to begin next week

With the poker boom in Asia, top poker brands like Asian Poker Tour (APT) and Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) have been doing brilliantly in recent times. Now, we’re just a week away from the start of the 2018 APPT Manila, after plenty of successful APPT stops this year, including one in Macau and one in Korea.

The APPT Manila has been scheduled to take place between 4-12 August 2018 and a total of 22 events will be played during these 9 days. The series is set to award over PHP 37 million in guaranteed prizes and also 5 Platinum Passes (worth $30,000 each) to the winners of the following tournaments:

• Kickoff Event
• National Event
• Megastack Event
• APPT Main Event
• Saturday SuperStack Event

These are easily the top five highlight events of the series, with the APPT Manila Main Event having a PHP 55,000 (~INR 70,800) buy-in and a whopping PHP 20 million (~INR 2.57 crore) GTD prize pool. Top Asian poker pros will be in attendance during this series and we’re expected a strong Indian participation as well, after India’s recent brilliant WSOP 2018 series. Recently, Devesh Thapar did brilliantly at the APT Vietnam Main Event, finishing 13th. Manila has always been a more preferred location for Indian poker players and a bigger Indian participation than APT Vietnam is expected.
