APPT Jeju ME: Sahil Chutani among top stacks on Day 1B

A large Indian contingent of players have gone to Las Vegas to be a part of the 50th anniversary of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), where massive cash prizes and a total of 89 gold bracelets are on the line. However, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t value in other tournaments and series happening across the world.

Indian pro Sahil Chutani found the closer option of South Korea attractive to participate in the PokerStars LIVE Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) series in Jeju, scheduled between 22-29 June 2019. Recently, he also registered to the KRW 2.5 million Main Event, where a total of 362 entries joined the field, creating a prize pool of KRW 790 million (~$684,620).

159 entries registered on Day 1B including Sahil Chutani who emerged as one of the top stacks by the end of day’s play. 43 survivors bagged their chips on this second starting flight and Chutani wasn’t too far away from the chip leader with a stack of 229,500 chips. With 237k chips, the lead was with China’s Siyuan Wang.

The third starting flight was also played out and putting all survivors together, Chutani is 8th in chips among the total of 96 players who return on Day 2 of the APPT Jeju Main Event. 41 spots will be paid out with a min-cash of KRW 4,345,000 (~$3,765) while the eventual winner will walk away with a handsome prize of KRW 183,695,000 (~$159,190), along with the trophy and the title.
