Anuj Laddhad bags lead in DPT Xpress Main Event Day 1

A couple of days back, Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) launched another series in Goa, this time being the fourth edition of DPT Xpress, one for those with smaller bankrolls and those just starting out in the game of poker. It’s been a fun time so far, with the 5k Burn N Turn and the 10k Bounty tournaments both declaring their respective winners.

It was now time for the 15k Main Event and yesterday, Day 1 of the tournament ended, with a total field of 192 entries (125 unique and 67 re-entries) taking part. Registration ended after Level 9 and a prize pool of INR 27.42 Lakhs was generated. At the end of Day 1, just 24 survivors managed to bag and tag, before resuming on Day 2 today.

Taking the lead among these survivors at the Deltin Royale poker room was 24-year old Anuj Laddhad who bagged a stack of 579,000 chips, way ahead of the rest, being the only one above 500k at the time. He was followed by Niyut Shah (499,000), Chirag Sodha (352,000), and Vikaash Shah (315,000).

Mihir Thakkar was the last player to get knocked out of contention and all the 24 survivors are in the money now, guaranteed a min-cash of INR 25,300, while the winner will walk away with INR 7 Lakh. All of them resumed at 3pm today and will all be eyeing that top prize and the DPT Xpress title as well.

Day 1 top 10 chip counts:

  1. Anuj Laddhad – 579,000
  2. Niyut Shah – 499,000
  3. Chirag Sodha – 352,000
  4. Vikaash Shah – 315,000
  5. Deepak Raina – 236,000

  8. Clinton Fernandes – 166,000
  9. Sam Reddy – 146,000
  10. Radhika Shankar – 127,000
