Ankit Jajodia ships Mega Freeze on Spartan

The Mega Freeze on The Spartan Poker is one of the feature tournaments hosted on their platform every Monday. This tournament is held in the Freezeout format, meaning, once a player busts, he cannot come back again. Many top players across the country have been known to prefer this format since it avoids unnecessary newbie all-ins at the beginning of the tournament.

Last night’s Mega Freeze had a guaranteed prize pool of INR 6 Lakhs, but was surpassed, creating a new prize pool of INR 6.7 Lakhs. The event attracted a total of 134 entries with top 20 places being paid off, minimum cash prize being INR 8,978, and having a buy-in of INR 5,500.

Ankit Jajodia aka ‘Psylence’ shipped the event, taking home a sizeable INR 1,25,848 for coming 1st. The four remaining players made an ICM chop deal among themselves based on the number of chips they have. Jajodia bagged the lion’s share out of the prize pool with his biggest stack of 633,373 chips.

Jajodia is well-known in online poker circles, having a strong skill-set for shipping tournaments. He recently took down two events and even a monthly leaderboard on PokerBaazi about a month ago. He cashed out almost INR 8 Lakhs in total, all in a month’s time. Topping the leaderboard shows how consistent and good he is at poker.

Gutshot got in touch with Jajodia after his win and he was delightful about it, saying “This is my first win on The Spartan Poker and I hope to win a lot more in the future”. Second in terms of cash-out was ‘daniel dwan with 436,187 chips before the deal. He took home INR 1,13,368 and wishes to stay anonymous.

Third in terms of cash prize was the Destiny winner Vineet Kumar aka, ‘The Mentalist’. Rounding up top four was the promising grinder Abhishek ‘allout1’ Jaiswal. Just a couple of months ago, he shipped the Spartan Super Series (SSS) Main Event for a hefty INR 25 Lakhs, beating a field of 1,271 entries.
