India’s Ankit Ahuja ranked #3 in the WPT Cambodia Championship winners list, taking home ₹1,63,90,335 ($189,000). This is Ahuja’s best cash-out to date. Several other Indian poker players had a gala at the WPT Cambodia Championship, flooding the ITM list.
The Championship has seen the who’s who of the poker world on their felts. The list includes past WPT Prime Champion Hugues Girard and other members of the WPT Champions Club, Konstantin Held and Masato Yokosawa.
Several Indians made the ranks. Aditya Agarwal took home $63,000 (₹54,63,504), ranking #7. Apoorva Goel took home ~₹24,71,320 ($28,500.), ranking #13. Kunal Patni took prize money of ~₹6,41,696($7,400) and ranked #68th. Karan Sitlani ranked #72 and took the same amount. Joining in on the fun was Sumit Sapra, who ranked #53 and took home₹8,84,456 ($10,200). Down the list, Deepankur Gupta took ~₹5,54,996 ($6,400) at rank #91.
Amit Kaushik took home $12,200 (~₹10,57,944) and ranked #47. Another surprise package in the rankings was Somashekar KM, who has had a fantastic few years, this time ranking #24 and taking home $17,300 (₹15,00,160). Somashekar previously shipped the Megastack Event, taking home ₹16,67,983. That event also saw multiple Indians on the list, with Harsh Bubna and Nishant Kumar ranking 4th and 6th.
With so many Indians in the ranks and Ankit Ahuja ranking so high, Indians have again etched their names in International poker history. He is 4th on the All-Time Money List in India, and his best cash-out until now was $362,365 at Event #5 of the European Poker Tour in 2023. Ahuja has been playing for more than a decade now, and this experience surely should count as one of his best. The event had 750 entries, and the total prize pool was $2,400,750 (2 Million), with a buy-in of $3,500.
