Anita Hassanandani scores a win in Spartan’s Daily Hi-Fi

The relation between Bollywood and poker has kept growing stronger in recent years. It’s not very uncommon to see Bollywood celebrities, sportspeople and other celebrities playing a game or two every once in a while. Recently, we had the very popular Anita Hassanandani Reddy topping a tournament field on Spartan Poker and winning a title!

She’s been playing on Spartan since a couple of years now, having even made a deep run in the Millionaire once, finishing 4th for a massive online score, following which our team had a quick chat with her. A couple of days back, she shipped the Afternoon Hi-Fi on their platform, registering a victory after beating quite a few Spartan regulars.

She registered to the Afternoon Hi-Fi INR 2.5 Lakh GTD, paying the INR 1,650 and firing 2 bullets before going on to take home top honours. A total field of 187 entries was observed, from which only the top 15 were paid out, each getting at least INR 5,329. Hassanandani plays as ‘Krishna Cottage’ on Spartan Poker, which is also the name of one of her blockbuster Bollywood films.

The prize pool rose up to INR 2.8 Lakh and Anita was up against ‘Thor009’ and ‘karannthakker’ in 3-way play. The last official hand of the tournament saw Anita folding pre-flop and karannthakker doing the same after getting an 8,000 bet after seeing the flop. Eventually, the three decided to end the event with a deal, giving Anita the title because she held the largest stack at the time.  

While Anita has been a very known name in the Bollywood industry for over a decade, she’s now a well-known entity in the poker industry too. Recently, she made an appearance at the Sep 2019 India Poker Championship too, where she played the 100k Highroller along with other celebrities like Rannvijay Singha, Kunal Khemu and others.
